Wolfgang Schabereiter is managing a small business incubator in Kapfenberg/Austria since 2008. The incubator-biz Kapfenberg- is thematically focussed on creative industries, which is a promising sector for the region. As a speciality of the region, companies from the creative sector along the product development circle are hosted in the centre. The centre is seen as a junction for innovation projects from companies in Styria, where training consultancy, working groups- etc. are offered to companies. Before doing this job, Wolfgang Schabereiter was working at the University of Leoben, where he was giving consultancy to the spin-off centre of the University.

Concerning innovation management the following projects can be mentioned: “SMEs Innotool” is a 5th Framework Programme project under the Innovation and SME programme, which aims to develop a toolbox for SMEs to implement innovation management (product development, process development) in their firms. “SUPPORT” is a LEONARDO DA VINCI project that focus on the development of a training course for sustainability and product development for SMEs. Especially projects- CREATIVE TRAINER I and II which are using the tool “idea machine” are the newest working fields of Mr.Schabereiter. All these projects have in common, to find new- unexpected ideas for companies by using systematically innovation management. Furthermore Wolfgang Schabereiter is also Improve- Guide. Improve is the best know European innovation audit tool to measure the state-of –art on innovation in companies and to work output improvements according to the audit.
