Siobhan McQuaid began her career with WestBIC in Galway where she was appointed the first manager of the Galway Technology Centre, a specialised ICT incubator. She left WestBIC to take up a senior management position in an Irish telco start up which was later successfully sold to a US multinational. Siobhan then joined the management team of a French multinational (Alcatel) before moving to Brussels in 2001 to head up the International Projects Department of the European BIC Network (EBN). She left Brussels in 2005 to set up Europe ABU, a project management consultancy which has been highly successful in securing and managing research and development funding for a variety of Irish and international clients from the academic, intermediary and private sector.
Siobhan acts as Senior Advisor to EBN on all H2020 related matters and chaired the H2020 Working Group within EBN, the precursor to the current Special Interest Groups (SIGs). Siobhan is actively involved in the Acceleration, Financing and Growth SIG and the Bioeconomy SIG with more than a passing interest in the Creativity SIGs too!
